Listen guys, people are going to have different opinions about this article. That’s your preoperative. However, we all have different levels of knowledge, experience, understandings about technology and various trackers. These are a list of trackers I feel don’t value their members with respect. Please keep in mind, I did not take this lightly! I’m not some disgruntle pirate throwing a temper tantrum after only a couple of days of membership. I’ve been a member with some of these private trackers for years! One of them I’ve even been a mod. There is indeed an issue with how pirates are treated on many private trackers, and it should stop. Do not continue to incentivize these private tracker’s behavior by giving them donations! Now, staff often come and go, therefor a private tracker’s internal culture can change (I acknowledge that). But from my experience, that’s highly unlikely for most of them. Obviously, I can’t review every private tracker, but here are some trackers that made my fucked up list. Take this information however you’d take it (hopefully, seriously). These are my experiences with below trackers! You’ve been warned!! I am an extreme advocate of public trackers, and have been for quite a long time now. Private trackers enforce far too many obligations on their members with little support in return. Haven’t you bothered to notice all the cross-postings? Veteran pirates are aware of the major issues that exist in many of these private trackers, and are working hard to in essence free content that would other-wise be only gotten through a private tracker you can’t get into. Pirating should be relatively fun and stress free for all participating members.
Specialize in obscure movies. Many refuges from ILC recently migrated. Owner doesn’t have a full grasp of the English language. I suspect he really doesn’t know what he’s doing. Very big difference between “knowing how to code,” and actually running a tracker. The owner can be very nasty, suggest you do not give any donations to this tracker. When it comes down to dealing with real issues, the owner doesn’t care. Movies shared tend to be older then the interest of the general public. At times they’re not diverse with their movie collection. There are over 8,000+ movies at the time of writing this article. However, minus about 2,000-3,500 for duplicate movies disguised as different HEVC codecs. Perhaps add even more if we consider all the dead torrents. None of the original higher ranking mods participate there anymore. Could it be they’re tired of the owner? My opinion, I think so. He does not deserve donation money. He doesn’t think his staff is worth a private communication, unless something is done he doesn’t like. He prefers public chat, because he’s too fucking lazy to deal with real issues. The owner calls himself a coder. He’s always asking us “are we ready for a change?” for the past two years! He didn’t do shit! Every single thing there is a chore, because even monitoring members are all manual. The only automated process there, is the processing of *.nfo files when uploading content. THAT’s IT!!
Beautiful site. But don’t let the beauty fool you. Some of the mods are assholes. That includes the owner. You can beg for assistance, and you’ll get no answer. Do not give donations to this tracker, as they don’t care about their members. Trackers like these need to understand that their members are the most important thing. Otherwise, upload your own damn movies! Quality of movies are pretty good. Just don’t participate in the forums. There are a lot of people (including staff) who don’t know what the fuck they’re talking about. Warning, staff members there can be very petty.
Seems like an offspring of DXDHD. Many of these trackers use the same ready made opensource templates to help build their sites. Sometimes it’s the same owners building multiple websites. I have no confirmation that DXDHD and BluTopia are affiliated, but they’re both assholes. If you apply to these trackers anyway, my recommendation is that you stay away from the message boards.
Every negative thing you’ve heard about IPT appears to be true. I have mixed feelings concerning IPT. You usually don’t have to pay for membership to get in, there is usually someone who is giving them out. In fact, my new seedbox gave me an invite to IPT. That’s how I got in for free. I think if you’re new and your starting out in the torrent world, IPT is a good introduction. The site is fairly easy to navigate, and pretty self explanatory. They have a wealth of content. However, keep in mind that they also have a lot of low rating, and foreign content too. Depending on what you’re looking for, that may be a good or bad thing. Keep in mind that although IPT is probably one of the most desired trackers to get in to, a significant chunk of their content are duplicate copies of single titles. So, in other words, I’ve heard they have more than 2 million movie titles for example. Expect that more than 1 million will be filled with more than several different codec versions of the same title, as well as cams. When you factor those things in, IPT is not really that special in my opinion. It is possible to survive for a very long time as a member of IPT, just don’t participate in their forums. Most of the mods are assholes, some don’t understand English well, and many of the staff have hidden god complexes. Do not post anything in the forums unless you absolutely have to. Read the rules first. Always seed so you can build bonus points, and you shouldn’t have to cough up any “donation money.”
Digital Core is a decent tracker. The owner appears to be cool. But again, my experience is that when I had a problem, there was little interest in wanting to work with me to take care of it. This is such a growing problem in the private tracker sector. This problem often makes me feel helpless, and adds to the desire of not wanting to deal with private trackers anymore. The reality is, this appears to be a growing cultural problem among private trackers. I don’t suspect that it will change, because there is nothing that exist that will pressure these trackers to change. For as long as members are scared of public trackers, and continue to NOT update their knowledge of torrents, private trackers attitudes will stay exactly the same!! Probably many will shut down before they acknowledge the fact that people are tired of tracker owners’ lack of leadership skills. This tracker is small & has potential. Technically this tracker is still very young, but I’d still say, don’t donate (unless you’re in a situation you feel you have to). You shouldn’t have to donate since 90% if what you’ll see there will be on public trackers, easily. Most of the content shared are only standard definition overall.
PrivateHD & Cinemaz:
Both of these are actually great trackers. They have the same owners, and use the same template. Their content is very good quality. Very good. If you want the best possible quality download, try and get an invite to those two trackers. The only difference between them is PrivateHD is of course for Blu-Ray rips, and Cinemaz are for DVDrips and DVDimages. Surprisingly they’re one of the very few trackers that are less troubling. The mods are fairly friendly. There are only two things about this tracker I feel are absolutely retarded! That is their uploading process. Now, I don’t understand the history that led up to the owner feeling forced to add such a rule. This is no judgement on the staff or owner, but nevertheless, I still find their rules insane.
Their rule is, you cannot upload your own rips without permission. You must give them a screenshot of the movie/TV. They’re so specific when it comes to codec, AND settings within those codecs, colors, etc, if it’s not right they want you to re-rip the movie! This is retarded because every TV will display slightly different. Sometimes even web Browsers will display image colors slightly different. The rule is not practical, and it’s a waste of everybody’s time. However, if you want to post a scene rip, that was fine, because I was told they know what to do. Then I asked, well what about people who rename files? Their response was “they can tell.” That is insane that ANY tracker would moderate their tracker on such a granular level. The other thing that pisses me off is their bonus points are cheap as hell. They could stand to be a little more generous.
They simply want your money. Everything you see on that tracker, is available for public download. Wake the fuck up people! You’re being taken by some of these trackers! It’s not about sharing is caring anymore! It’s about taking money from your digital wallet!!!
Although Reddit technically is not a pirate site, but they do have active torrent forums. The reason why I decided to add them to this list is because they are a popular “go to” place for pirate information. The problem with Reddit is that sometimes both the moderators and members can be really nasty as fuck. I don’t think I would recommend newbies to use Reddit. Because you could be either offended, or given very inaccurate information. In fact, in many of the popular groups, there are many members that posses troll like behaviors. In fact, I suspect that a number of people who own trackers/services are moderators of some of those forums. How do I know this?? Well, I’ve had post removed for warning members/customers of real issues. So, not every forum within Reddit looks out for member’s best interest.
